Know Your Enemy
Your water may look clear, but microscopic threats can still be lurking. We identify the most common contaminants found in Texas water.
PFAS (Forever Chemicals)
What is it?
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances used in non-stick cookware, firefighting foam, and water-repellent fabrics. They do not break down in the environment.
Health Risks
Linked to cancer (kidney, testicular), immune system suppression, cholesterol issues, and developmental delays in children.
Lead
What is it?
A toxic heavy metal often found in older plumbing systems and service lines. There is no safe level of lead exposure.
Health Risks
Severe damage to the brain and nervous system, particularly in children. Causes learning disabilities, hearing loss, and developmental delays.
Chlorine & Chloramines
What is it?
Chemicals added to public water supplies for disinfection. While they kill bacteria, they leave a distinct taste and odor and can form harmful byproducts.
Health Risks
Dries out skin and hair. Reacts with organic matter to form Trihalomethanes (THMs), which are potential carcinogens.
Arsenic
What is it?
A semi-metal that occurs naturally in soil and bedrock, or from agricultural and industrial runoff. Common in certain Texas groundwater sources.
Health Risks
Long-term exposure is linked to skin damage, circulatory problems, and an increased risk of cancer.
Nitrates
What is it?
Compounds commonly found in fertilizers and animal waste that can seep into groundwater, especially in rural areas.
Health Risks
Dangerous for infants, blocking the blood's ability to carry oxygen ('Blue Baby Syndrome'). Also linked to thyroid issues.
Microbials (Giardia/Crypto)
What is it?
Parasites and cysts that can survive standard chlorine disinfection. They enter water supplies through sewage or animal waste runoff.
Health Risks
Cause severe gastrointestinal illness (vomiting, diarrhea), particularly dangerous for those with weakened immune systems.
The Solution is Clear
Our Reverse Osmosis systems are certified to remove up to 99% of these contaminants, giving you water that is safer than bottled.
